On April 15th, 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American player in Major League Baseball since the 1800's. On January 20th, 2009, Barack Obama became the first African-American President of the United States. With better way to start the Jackie Robinson Day celebration game in Los Angeles than with a first pitch by President Barack Obama?
We, the undersigned, believe the Dodgers should invite President Barack Obama to Dodger Stadium on April 15th, 2009. We believe the first African-American President of the United States should be there to celebrate Jackie Robinson's life. It would be symbolic of just how face we've come since that day in 1947.
