Reverse the License Change

To:  Microsoft

We, the undersigned, are disgusted with Microsoft's latest abuse of it's power in an attempt to create more money for itself at the expense of the consumer. We are referring to the change in the license of its OEM operation system, which forces the user to buy a new license whenever a new motherboard is purchased unless the existing board is at fault. The statement that "an upgrade of the motherboard is considered to result in a new personal computer to which Microsoft OEM operating system software cannot be transferred from another computer" is a fallacy and is a thinly veiled excuse to force users into buying its' software more than necessary. There is no reason why the software needs "one base component left standing that would still define that original PC. Since the motherboard contains the CPU and is the heart and soul of the PC, when the motherboard is replaced (for reasons other than defect) a new PC is essentially created", nor is there any reason to choose the motherboard over the CPU, hard-drive or even the graphics card.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
