Serious Health Concern For Women Inmates In Ohio!

To:  Governor Taft, Director Wilkinson

This petition is to address a very serious and degrading issue that is happening to our women in the Ohio prison system. The women are being given only one bag of sanitary napkins per month, which is around 12 pads. They are being forced to buy any extra that they may require. The state is demanding these women pay for the extra pads on a pay of $4 to $21 dollars a month. Now if you are a women reading this you know that 12 pads is not an amount that you would rely on to keep you clean and safe. Which brings us to the main concern here...The health issues that this will cause. If they don't have the supply they need they will have to resort to humiliating, not to mention inhumane ways to cover themselves and keep them clean. This is something we need to stop right now before major medical problems arise and it is to late..because then you will bill them for a medical issue that you could have prevented...PLEASE take us serious because we are committed to seeing this through.
