The Southern Party of Oklahoma 1st Vice Chairman has sent the following legislation to Wayne Pettigrew and Glenn Coffee to present to Oklahoma legislaters. Sign the petittion and I will send all the names to the House of Reps and senete.

I would like to propose the following legislation for you to introduce to the Oklahoma Legislative Body. I feel this legislation is necessary in view of Oklahoma History. I would be willing to discuss this legislation with both or either of you at your conveyance. I look forward to hearing from both of you on this matter.

Oklahoma Confederate Memorial Day Observance And Flag Restoration Act

A bill entitled: The Oklahoma Confederate Memorial Day Observance and Flag Restoration Act

Be it enacted by the Oklahoma Legislative Body:


Section 1:
Whereas, it is a proper endeavor for a society to remember and respect the memory, valor, sacrifice, and patriotism of all Confederate dead;

Whereas, It is also proper and fitting for society to remember, honor and recognize the history and heritage and the contribution of the Native Americans and others made to this great state;

Whereas, it is remembrance and respect for the past provide for a path for mutual understanding and respect for the future, and;

Whereas, this a act represents this spirit of mutual respect and understanding the Oklahoma Legislative Body will therefore officially declare April 26 Confederate Memorial Day in the state of Oklahoma. The Body also declares that this act shall be known as the “Oklahoma Confederate Memorial day Observance and Flag restoration Act.”






Section 2:

Whereas, it is fitting and proper to remember and honor Oklahomas’ past; the Third National Flag of the Confederacy shall be place on the flag pole in the Flag Garden on the Capitol ground and;

Where it is fitting and proper to educate Oklahomans what the flag is and stands for a plaque shall be placed at the base of the flag pole that states:
Third National Flag of the Confederacy
1865- Present
This flag represents all the Native Americans in I. T. and all races that contributed to the Southern Cause during the War for Southern Independence.
1861-1865

Whereas, it is proper for all Oklahomans to express their Southern Heritage They shall be able to fly (Battle Flag, Naval Jack, 1st, 2nd, 3rd National flags or Bonnie blue) At there residence weather they own or rent; House or trail park as long as they are the owner of the Mobile home even though they may not own the lot. As long as they pay rent this shall apply.

A.) The provisions of sections 1 and 2 may only be amended repealed upon passage of an act which has received a two-thirds (2/3) Majority vote on one of its readings in each branch of the Oklahoma Legislative Body.
