Olmert's Government - Resign!

We, the undersigned, citizens of the State of Israel, from all political affiliations, call upon the government of Israel headed by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, to resign.

We assert that the government's handling of the conflict with the Hizbollah was rife with severe flaws, on the levels of strategic forethought, the management of the military operations, the handling of diplomacy, and regarding the care for the targeted citizenry in northern Israel.

These flaws have incurably damaged the public's faith in the government, and oblige the government to resign.

We call upon the government to resign at the first possible opportunity that will not endanger the soldiers of the IDF still on Lebanese soil.
We call on the government to establish an official Commission of Inquiry headed by a chief justice from the Supreme Court to fully investigate the circumstances of this conflict and its underlying causes.

We fully support the soldiers of the IDF, send our condolences to the bereaved families, wish a speedy recovery to the wounded, and demand intensive action designed towards the immediate release of the abducted soldiers.

אנו החתומים מטה, אזרחי מדינת ישראל, מכל קצות הקשת הפוליטית, קוראים לממשלת אולמרט להתפטר.

אנו קובעים כי ההתנהלות של ממשלת ישראל בעימות עם החיזבאללה הייתה רצופה בכשלים חמורים, הן בשיקול הדעת האסטרטגי, הן באופן הפעילות הצבאית, הן בניהול הפעילות המדינית, והן בטיפול בעורף.

כשלים אלו פגעו באופן מהותי באמון הציבור בממשלה, ומחייבים את הממשלה להתפטר.

אנו קוראים לממשלה להתפטר בהזדמנות הראשונה אשר לא תסכן את חיילי צה"ל הנמצאים עדיין בלבנון.

אנו קוראים לממשלה להקים לפני התפטרותה ועדת חקירה ממלכתית בראשות שופט, לחקור באופן מעמיק את הארועים ושורשיהם.

אנו תומכים בכל לב בחיילי צה"ל מהדרגים הלוחמים, שולחים תנחומינו למשפחות השכולות, מאחלים החלמה מהירה לפצועים, ודורשים פעילות אינטנסיבית להחזרה מיידית של החיילים החטופים.
