Julie Gregory, author of the book "Sickened: The Memoir of a Munchausen by Proxy Childhood," was abused by her mother Sandy for many years, along with her siblings, and foster brothers and sisters. After Julie left home Sandy continued to abuse foster children Tina & Paul over many years, until eventually the authorities removed them from the home. Unfortunately, after a relatively short period of time Tina & Paul were returned to Sandy. There are grave concerns for the safety of these children, and even though neighbours have lodged complaints about Sandy's behaviour, Tina & Paul remain in the home.
Oprah, we need you to highlight this case as an example of child protection agencies unwillingness to admit their mistakes, or to accept that their policy of reunification is not always appropriate.
Oprah, children have died or been tortured as a result of these agencies leaving children in the care of abusers. Only you can save them by focusing on the issue and influencing change. Please save Tina & Paul and others like them. Please do a program on this issue.
