THE MISUSE OF POWER UNDER THE NIGERIAN DEMOCRACY
Since 1960, when Nigeria got its independent from Britain, we all hope that democracy would help the country (Nigeria) develop and help the country be one of the greatest in Africa better still the world at large, but this has not been the case as all sought of government has come with all type of leadership, did I just say leadership? Or better still treasury looters and corrupt government official with flamboyant lifestyle, while its people still dies from malaria and pipeline explosion every week.
I dont even know where to start from ,when discussing the problems of Nigeria as a nation but I do remember an occasion, about six years ago, I boarded a bus Allen Avenue in Ikeja (Lagos) and an elderly man sat with me in the bus, as the bus made a turn and towards Ikeja, I noticed the man starring and smiling at the statue of late Awo, I caught his glimpse and was forced to ask ,why he was smiling and he told me something that I would never forget those were the good old days of the western region I didnt understand what it was but as my generation in Nigeria today would maybe never know ,whats the good old days.
Discussing issues relating to the Nigerian government and its affairs is something that I always avoid online even when I see or read the most shocking scandals of the century, I still pretend as, if nothing has happened.
Recently, I read and see many sad events from my beloved country Nigeria and I just feel I must express my opinion, even if not every Nigerian hear me (due to low communication infrastructure) but I know a few with the same state of mind would be glad someone put in this petition as a democratic way of expressing one opinion and maybe changing things, the way it should be.
Two events came up in Nigeria the last couple of weeks ,which made headline in Nigerian and overseas, firstly the detention of US based bloggers Jonathan Elendu of the www.ElenduReports.com by the SSS and the detention of Channels Television staff for a story ,which we all know now (The president is sick !)

Then came the beating of a twenty-seven year old female by armed guards attached to Rear Admiral Olufemi Arogundade (popularly known as Mad Dog) on Victoria Island, Lagos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtAQ0PRPQ8I , luckily, the Mad dog is being questioned by bigger fish in Abuja.
The recent undemocratic act by the Nigerian government is the use of force in preventing the former EFCC chairman from partaking in the graduation ceremony and his abduction by the security operatives.

If the government resorts to use of illegal means in running the country, then I think we should all petition it, to take a leave starting with the minister of justice and the IG of the police.
With these sad events I am writing this petition to all Nigerians, wherever you are to help sign this petition for the Minister of Justice and the IG OF THE Nigeria Police to Resign
Lets use this as a medium to express our dissatisfaction of the state of affair of our beloved country as it is done in a democratic government.
Thanks and God bless and long live Democracy
