To:  All major DVD publishers

A lot of people might want to forget the 80's. Big hair, bad clothes, but one thing they were certainly famous for was cartoons. In the 80's cartoon animation took a significant leap forward, and with it, storytelling. No longer did children have to be talked down to by their television sets. Classic shows like Transformers and G.I. Joe changed the way our society viewed cartoons. Even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had a prominent effect on our society.

However, one cartoon from that decade has been vastly overlooked. While others have gone on to prominent DVD releases, one of the most influential cartoons of all time has languished. And although it's fan base still thrives, it seems that they are ignored.

The Real Ghostbusters premiered in 1986 to outstanding ratings. The show took all the great elements of the movie and focused on character development in ways not previously seen in cartoons. The show lasted for over 140 episodes, simultaneously running both seasonally and in syndication until 1991, it's sixth season, when it was finally cancelled.

The show was so popular that Ghostbusters II was altered in ways so as not to contradict with cartoon, and even managed a spinoff series in 1997 called Extreme Ghostbusters (which in a landmark two-part episode had the original cast reprising their roles for a reunion).

And yet, The Real Ghostbusters languishes, unreleased, except in the out-of-print VHS form of a scant few syndacted episodes.

The Real Ghostbusters deservers better. It deserves a top quality DVD release in season sets, no less than any other landmark television series.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
