The education students of Lakehead Orillia would like to bring to your attention the lack of training available in regard to smartboards and other classroom technology.

Lakehead Thunder Bay has a workshop available to its education students titled Smartboard in the Classroom Below is a description of the workshop taken from the Lakehead website.

EDUC 7084 Smartboard in the Classroom
Smart Boards - A Technical Introduction
This workshop will focus on the technical side of smart boards, demonstrations will include the boards capabilities, and functions, as well some basic troubleshooting. The SMART notebook software will be demonstrated as well as the board's integration into other software such as the Microsoft Office Suite. Participants will have an opportunity for some hands on training and a chance to use the board. The focus of the workshop will be more technical then pedagogical, aiming to give the participants a good understanding of how to use the board.

What we are asking:
To make this workshop available to Orillia students. With the growing trend of technology in the classrooms it will not be long until smartboards are in every classrooms. It hardly seems fair that Lakehead Thunder Bay students will be better prepared than Lakehead Orillia students.
