OC Transpo 145

As of September 6th, 2009, the regular route 145 will no longer serve the| Riverroad community as it previously has. Instead it will be replaced by the “Peak Hour” Bus service route 189. This route seemingly serves no real purpose to the Riverroad community with the only hours of service to Greenboro being within the afternoon rush hours of 3:30 pm- 6:30 pm. As for service from Greenboro towards the Riverroad community merely being 3 bus routes between the early morning hours of 6-8 am.

As for those without any other type of disposable transportation, the only other public transportation option will be to walk towards the 116 South Keys bus stop at the intersection of Hunt Club and Riverroad, which, for most in the Riverroad residents, is an extremely exhausting long walk and is barley an reasonable option, especially in the night hours and winter months.

With the present route changes to the 145 , many of the residents in the Riverroad community will be devastatingly impacted, especially younger residents reliant on OC transpo for school.

We present two options towards OC Transpo; (1) We demand the return of the regular route 145 back to the previous service of the Riverroad community. (2) We demand that more regular, hourly service be added towards the route 189 that would make it an actual use for the Riverroad residents instead of a taxpayer’s waste of a bus route.

OC Transpo has always provided excellent, reliable service to the Residents of Ottawa. It has proven to be caring and attentive to customer input. We ask that you value our input by considering our proposal and making some serious changes for the coming months.
