Dear Sony Ericsson,

We, the undersigned, would like to request that you release UIQ 2.1 for existing P800 devices. We are all aware that you have just announced the P900 which, although having some hardware improvements, is mainly a P800 with UIQ 2.1.

When we purchased this expensive device we expected that it would have a reasonable amount of longevity, certainly more than 10 months. Since the hardware on the P800 is still some of the best around, we were expecting that the software on the device would be upgraded and improved as UIQ matured, at least while the P800 hardware was competitive.

In your white paper P800 in the enterprise you implied that P800 users could expect major updates in many key areas. Other than some trivial patches the P800 has not had any update which could in anyway be described as major.

The P800 with UIQ 2.0 has some major flaws that could be fixed with the 2.1 upgrade and as such it is quite reasonable to expect the 2.1 upgrade.
