To Mr. John McCaw and Mr. Stan McCammon,

This petition is intended to show the disgust that fans of the Vancouver Canucks Hockey club are feeling at how the General Manager of the team, Mr. Brian Burke is currently being treated by ownership.

Under Mr. Burke's direction the Canucks have become a contending hockey club, a financially successful business, and a team that the people of Vancouver can be proud of. He has done an admirable job for his employer, under difficult circumstances, and he deserves much better treatment then he is currently getting.

The recent actions by the ownership of the the hockey club, Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment have resulted in Mr. Burke becoming a "lame duck" GM and we as fans of the club find this completely unacceptable. We as fans feel the quality of our club will suffer if Mr. Burke is not resigned. It will send a signal to other quality candidates that no matter how good of a job you do, you will not be appreciated.

We feel that the ownership of this team is allowing egos to overrule sound hockey decisions, and as the fans that make the business successful, we find this despicable and unacceptable.

We also feel that certain media members have a vendetta against Mr. Burke, and that ownership is concerning itself a little too much with the opinions of these so-called "experts".

Therefore we present this petition, demanding that Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment do the right thing, and treat Brian Burke with the respect he deserves, and they reward him with a new contract for the outstanding job he has done with his hockey club for the people of Vancouver.
