In Loving Memory of Devon Miller

Hello, my name is Lisa Bruno I am a resident of Lexington Hill in Woolwich Twp. I am a wife and a mother of a seven year old girl and four year old boy. I am a long time friend and former neighbor of the Millers hence my reason for starting this petition on behalf of the Miller family who reside in Logan Twp.
.
As many of you may know or have at least heard about the young lady who was only 13 years old that was struck by a truck in front of the Kinder Care on Center Square Road on January 3rd 2008. Devon passed away not even 24hours later on January 4th 2008.

You didnt have to know Devon to support this effort, however it is to try and stop this from ever happening again. Devon was not the only person killed on Center Square Road another Gentlemen was killed in the cross walk of Center Square Rd. and School Lane last year.

I ask you this... How many more lives will it take before Gloucester County reduces the speed limit of 45mpr, places street lights, reflectors and sidewalks on Center Square Road? Would you agree that the speed limit should be reduced to a minimum of 35 miles per hour? How many times have we all driven the 45 mile speed limit or above from one end of Woolwich Twp to Logan Twp before you could take a last minute notice of a pedestrian crossing the road?

This occurs mostly in Logan Twp due to the fact that the once children have now grown into teenagers and cross Center Square Road on a daily basis. Woolwich Twp is only a few years from our children growing to their teen years and still with all the developing going on the road is not lit up nor is there sidewalks on the entire strip both sides included of Center Square Road.

Having all of the above mentioned does not have to do with Logan and Woolwich Twp, however, their support in this effort has already been shown and will be presented to the Gloucester County Freeholder Director Stephen M. Sweeney along with each and every signed petition.

If you agree with this petition that YES, we need our speed limit dropped, road way lit with street lamps, more cross walks placed with reflectors and sidewalks to walk along on then please sign this paper along with any other comments you may want to add and lets help as a growing community try and save any other lives from be taken on this road way.

If you have been asking yourself how to help the Miller Family? Your continued support especially on this effort will be the start of the healing process that they must move on from. We Love you Devon and we will continue to fight on your behalf!

On behalf of the Miller Family and the outrage of support from this community, I thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and greatly appreciate your love and support. Please feel free to make copies and pass along to any supporters. My address is noted below and their signed petition can be mailed directly to me.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lisa Bruno

    • devon miller was a very important person. since she was hit everyone lives have changed. it wasn't fair. i think maybe if the speed limit was lowered then we would have a less chance of this happening again. even tho the kids have to e resopnsible. so do the adults. thanks.
