A Statement of Protest Against the American Idol Voting Structure

We, the undersigned, strenuously protest the grossly defective voting system currently used by the reality competition known as American Idol. It is a system which has taken the final decision of who is to represent America as American Idol away from the majority and placed it into the hands of a well-armed special interest minority. When one person has the voting power of 600-1000 single dialers, the will of the many succumbs to the will of the few. THIS MUST STOP.

Evidence has arisen that employees of the sole company providing text voting services for the competition, AT&T, provided supporters of one contestant, Kris Allen, with equipment and instruction in power voting that was not provided to supporters of the opposing contestant, Adam Lambert. Whether it's ever conclusively determined that this altered the outcome or not, we must respectfully demand that the system which promotes such a gross skewing of results be abolished and replaced.

In light of the evidence that voting results from the night of May 19, 2009 may be tainted, American Idol Season 8 has no winner, only a clear star, and that is Adam Lambert.

- Adam Lambert is hands down the star of Season 8, the favorite of the majority of viewers as evidenced by numerous polls throughout the season.. I believe a 1 person 1 vote or 1 person 10 vote system would have elected him American Idol. It isn't right for 1 person to have so much more say than another in a contest where the Idol is representing all of us.

- Unfortunately this season did not have a true winner. The show was designed to find BEST undiscovered talent and offer them a chance to live out their dream. Unfortunately this year, America got it wrong, but I don't believe this to be a true accurate vote count. Adam Lambert losing was a combined effort of websites like Vote for the Worst and DialIdol, also combined with the AT&T effort to have everyone POWER DIALING for Kris, which was organized by parties for Kris Allen. AT&T also provided free text messaging services at two parties in Arkansas after the final performance episode of American Idol last week, according to the company and people at the events (per the NJ Star Ledger). There should be a way to shut these sites down permanently and go back to the old school method of dialing and texting ONE AT A TIME! Although you may not get the huge numbers, you will get an actual true count of who AMERICA really voted for!!! I'm sorry, I truly believe that the fix was in for Adam to lose this year.

- Those votes were never counted! The sick people voted AGAINST Adam because he is Jewish, maybe GAY, and different! KRIS CANNOT SING TO SAVE HIS OWN SKIN. IT WAS decided he should won long before the FINALE ! WHAT A SHAME! ADAM LAMBERT IS THE REAL AMERICAN IDOL !
