Remake of Hitchcock's The Birds: NO!

We, the undersigned, ask that NO ONE (directors, actors, writers...) remakes Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, for we find it to be an insult.

A lot of people seem to think that just because back in the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's they didn't have technology, movies were not good. This isn't true. Movies back then were actually better than they are today. They had better stories, better actors, better dialogues and, of course, they didn't have to be naked and swear all the time in order for the movie to be interesting.

Technology is a 'necessary evil' in order to do sci-fi movies, for example. But a movie like The Birds doesn't need to be remade. Sure, Hitchcock didn't have technology but his talent with the camera was much bigger than all computers combined. He had the ability to produce fear in an audience like no one else. Therefore, we find it unnecessary, useless and most of all, an insult to remake The Birds. Please, don't do it.

- I fully agree! Why don't they think of something original? A remake of a great (Hitchcock) classic shouldn't be allowed! It won't even come close to the great combination of Hitch directing, the wonderful actors and the sphere of the classic era. Cinema's should start screening the original, instead of a bad copy! (;

- I'm not really into hitchcock that much, I just can't stand it when people try to remake the classics...It's like they think they can do just as good, or even better than the original, and when they do that IT JUST BURNS ME UP!! Don't do the remake!!

- Remaking someone's work, in which he/she put so much faith and effort. Would you like it if someone remaked YOUR work (say, movie or novel)? A second reason not to direct the Birds is because IT IS A CLASSIC. PERIOD!

- In my opinion, this being Hitchcock's worst film, the only redeeming quality was Hitchcock's innovation and experimentation, as well as, come to think of it, the groundbreaking special effects which, in a remake, could only be average.
