The Government of Nova Scotia plans to raise the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) by 2\%. Nova Scotians are already one of the most highly taxed populations in Canada (both business and personal). Also, many Nova Scotians have endured pay freezes, pay cuts, and job losses in this recession. Now is NOT the time for a 2\% tax hike on the HST.

- Nova Scotia has the second highest (next to Quebec) taxes in Canada, we do not need more taxes in this tough time. Reducing government spending will take care of the deficit.
