On 3rd February 2005 Colette Lynch, a 24 year old mother of 3, was brutally stabbed to death in an unprovoked attack, at the hands of her estranged partner Percy Wright.
Colette's mother, Helen Lynch, was also viciously stabbed, but survived the attack.
Wright was convicted of Colette's manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and is now subject to a hospital order.
This was a tragedy that might have been prevented had agencies responded to Colette's countless calls for help in the weeks, days and hours leading up to her death.
On 6th March 2009 a tribunal will be held which will decide whether Wright is to be released into the community.
Should Wright be released he will pose a threat to the safety of the public.
The failure of public agencies to recognise and respond to this threat in 2005 cost Colette her life.
The public cannot bear the risk of agencies failing to recognise the danger Wright continues to present.
We, the undersigned, urge the Ministry of Justice to intervene in the forthcoming tribunal to ensure that Wright is not released.

- I think it is absolutely ridiculous that you have all released such personal information over the internet, especially when there is a situation as sensitive as this, there is no way that all of you are directly linked to the families in question or even the court case and I think you are stupid to have put your names down and given comments like you have. We are talking about a mans life here, yes he has been proven guilty of 'manslaughter' and has server a 4 year sentence, yes I agree this is not on, he has commited a terrible act and should be punished accordingly. I noticed someone had posted a comment about his 'mental health', having a reasonable deal of knowledge about the people in question I would put forward the suggestion that perhaps he was not of sound mind and body at the time in question, in particular under the influence of narcotics. The real situation here is controlling the level of easily accessable drugs on rugby's streets, sure the man is a criminal, but he was also a victim.
