Nevada State Law does NOT allow adoptees the right to their adoption records at this present time. This petition is to stand up for our right as an adoptee to know our personal background of our adoption, including: Birthparents names, address at time of birth, birthparents D.O.B, medical history of all birthfamily members. Those of us who have families have difficulties with medical backgrounds. For as an adoptee, there isn't enough information given to us to be aware of what medical problems may come. Those of us who are planning a family are having difficulties with making this decision for fear of possible major illnesses or disabilities due to the lack of information given to us regarding our medical history of our birthparents. It is our right, as any other individual that is not adopted, to our medical backgrounds and any other background that is pertinent to the health and wellness of ourselves and the family we have or are trying to have and the future of our families in the future.
