Although it is a recognized fact that government cannot solve every problem, it is also a fact that a free-market economy cannot either. In a country where CEO excesses are revealed on an almost daily basis, it is almost criminal that millions of our fellow Americans go without health insurance of some kind (DESPITE how some dogmatic ideologues would have us believe otherwise). It is further recognized that equal access to equal and competent health care should not be marketable commodity or service, but a necessity of human decency in pretty much the same vein as the rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, and that equal access to affordable health care is the only true "level playing field" by which all other opportunities for self-improvement can have a hope of emanate. This petition is a message to the members of Congress and the legislatures of the various states that We the People of the United States demand prompt action leading to some form of affordable universal health care for ALL Americans!

    • Without healthcare reform that returns healthcare to being not-for profit, our capitalist economy will collapse under the expense of healthcare.
