By signing this Petition, I am adding my voice to those of other Canadians, in joining Premiere Dalton McGuinty's call to extend the eligibility timeframe for the Cross of Valour and other decorations for bravery beyond two years.
Mr. McGuinty's letter cites the needs that exist in certain situations where an application for bravery may not be submitted within the two-year time limit - citing specifically Constable Garrett's case.

- You would think the Gov. General's office would be compassionate and have a little common sense. Very sad!

- Why the hesitation? I can't understand the reasoning for not awarding the officer for his valor in this suitation. By doing this you could do yourself the favor of feeling great by doing the right thing and you would be remembered for it.
