This petition is to allow step parents & step family members to be allowed rights to custody and/or visitation to minor children of no age limit, if there is no danger of the step parents/family members being involved in the minor children's lives.The law needs to be changed to give more rights to step parents/family members. Please remember while reading this petition there are many step parents/family members that still benefit the lives of children even after a divorce.Also please take the time to say a prayer for the step children of divorce & please sign this petition.Thank you to all who sign this petition from the step children of the world who have been hurt by parents who no longer allow their children to be in the lives of a step parent after a divorce.

    • Please change this policy. It has to be one of the painful things to deal with in life. Some people don't want to be bothered after a break up. You have some that still want to be part of a childs life. Don't take that away from the adult or the child.

    • This is an important issue especially when dealing with difficult people who use their children for their own personal vendettas which is what I am experiencing now. Too often, people use their kids as a way to "get back" at the other person which is unfortunate. My husband is deployed and his son's mom has taken advantage of that and limited our visitation with him. This is a serious problem and I hope this petition can end all the pettiness...
