This petition is to allow step parents & step family members to be allowed rights to custody and/or visitation to minor children of no age limit, if there is no danger of the step parents/family members being involved in the minor children's lives.The law needs to be changed to give more rights to step parents/family members. Please remember while reading this petition there are many step parents/family members that still benefit the lives of children even after a divorce.Also please take the time to say a prayer for the step children of divorce & please sign this petition.Thank you to all who sign this petition from the step children of the world who have been hurt by parents who no longer allow their children to be in the lives of a step parent after a divorce.

    • This is for my grandson Tyler. My son is Donovan Kokel Below and is in a major contest to maintain visitation. Tyler had only known Donovan as his daddy for the first two years of his life. This is a serious crime against children to keep a person who has been stable and loving out of a childs life. Tyler still calls Donovan "MY DADDY " and is very attached to him as well as our entire family. For the first 2 years my wife and I were the grandparents tyler saw every week if not everday . We Love Tyler and will never stop fighting for him. He has a right to be Happy. No child can be loved TOO MUCH.     • After the recent death of my husband, I fear I will no longer be able to see the children I helped raise. They are as much my children as they were his and now they are going to be taken away from me.

    • If the child lives with a step-parent and something happens to the main parent the child should still have the option to live with the step-parent if they would wish.

    • I had a step-son untill I was forced to leave his father for our well being, I was the only stable thing in his life and he did not understand why I left and begged me to let him live with me. Try explaining to a 3 year old that he can't live with you and you can no longer see him while he is crying and screaming and will not let go of you. It rips your heart right out of your chest.

    • I met my stepson at 15 months old, he knows who his birth mom is but has lived with his father since birth. we were married until he was 5 and once we divorced he still lived with his father most of the last 4 years however I have been a big part of his everyday life, just as a parent should be. His birth mom comes to some of his b-day's which is 4/25. I have planned all but one of his parties since he was 2, I have been at his school daily for the good & the bad. His dad & I argue but by God's Grace until recently there have been few times he would not allow me to see him, a week if that long. Our last argument was on March 5 & I was then told to stay away forever and I have not seen him or heard his voice since. This 3 weeks has shown me that I am stronger than I thought but still I have no rights & I would give anything just to see him, I am not perfect, no parent is. Some moms have babies from their stomachs & some have babies from their Hearts, either way it's God's Will. This petition is a God Send,

    • I am a step parent and I am a strong believer that step parents should have some rights as when it comes to step children. If anything were to happen to my wife and I not be able to have some rights with these kidsit would be horrible.
