The Wayne Board of Education and the Wayne Counsel have been considering Turf Field projects for the last few years only to delay moving it forward for a variety of reasons. Townships surrounding Wayne throughout the state have found various ways to do similar projects and provide their student athletes the best facilities to practice and play on. The parents of the student athletes in Wayne are asking for the same!
By signing this petition, we are telling our elected leaders that unless you publically support (via on record at a public meeting or in writing) moving forward with a plan to complete the turf field projects at both Wayne High Schools before the fall of 2008, we will not vote for you at your next election.

- What happened to the $4.5 mil overage that was found earlier this year? Couldn't that help fund the turf fields !Considering the taxes we pay for our school system, turf feilds should've been installed years ago.

- I have been to many high schools not only in New Jersey but in Virginia and Florida and the town of Wayne is way behind the 8 ball when it comes to fields. In a town where the citizens are asked to pay the taxes they do, there is no reason that Wayne cannot afford to put turf fields at WH and WV. If this town and school district truly want to be recognized as a leader in both academics and athletics like they claim, this is a must.

- The fields are used for multiple sports therefore they get torn apart. Not only are they look unappealing and are extremely hard to play on, they cause multiple ankle and knee injuries. Wayne athletes work so hard to represent their town the right way, don't you think the town should care at least a little.

- Our athletes at in our town work so hard everyday to bring home numerous conference, county and state championships. They deserve the best and right now Wayne is failing them by falling short.

- The town of wayne is hindering its athletic teams by not installing turf. The athletes put in the time and the effort, but when injuries caused by the fields cause a varsity starter to sit, the team suffers. THAT IS NOT FAIR!

- If the current Board of Education did a more effective job with strategic planning, a prioritized list of all capital projects, including turf fields, would be in place and a budget-friendly roadmap would outline the plan to fund all of them. Waynes students deserve better leadership and that is why I AM RUNNING FOR THE BOE on April 15th. Vote for an Independent voice that is taking no campaign contributions instead of a partisan slate beholden to special interests. VOTE FOR AL SADOWSKI. Tell a friend.

- I think that this is a well deserved facility that will benefit athletes of all sports. This will be a long term investment that will be enjoyed by many generations to come and should have been done years ago.

- The benefits of a turf surface are endless. The new field turf has been proven to be safer for our athletes, require less overall care and be a great source of revenue. I would be interested in hearing what town officials in Ramapo-Indian Hills School District have to say, as they have a turf complex for the recreation department and turf fields as both high schools (Ramapo & Indian Hills).
