    • As an MSU alumnus, I have witnessed first hand the importance of this degree program and impact the music therapy clinic has on the Lansing community. This program should be maintained also because of it growing importance with the aging of the baby boomers. We will need professional music therapists more than ever.

    • As a healthcare provider, I come in contact with many individuals who benefit from a combination of alternative therapies, including music therapy. My boyfriend's mother is also a long-time music therapist, and the stories that she has shared with me reinforce my feelings about the importance of continuing to educate and utilize music therapists for individuals with various conditions.

    • By supporting the petition to save Music Therapy at Michigan State University, I am also supporting Barack Obama's Economic Stimulus Package. The music therapy program provides well qualified personnel to fill existing jobs. The field is continuing to grow and the demand for people to fill these positions is ongoing.
