We the residents of Orange County are in favor of this move only if the facility would be used as a community center and vocational school. We are aware that the juvenile justice system commits and tries as adults more Black children than White. Of Floridas 1.9 million residents age 10-17, more than half are White. Twenty two percent are Hispanic and less than a quarter, 21 percent are Black. Inside Floridas juvenile stockades, young Black males and a growing number of females represent 51 percent of its 5, 5000 inmates. This is the year for change. We desire for you to assist the local Pastors, Businesss, and Organization with putting our kids and our community on the right track. We know better what we need and want. Give us the facility to use for strengthening our youth, families, and community. You are aware of the earned income in the Pine Hills community. You are aware of the unemployment in the Pine Hills community. Give us the facility and the resources needed to allow us to make the necessary changes. Everyone is crying out about the crime, violence, and uninspired youth in Pine Hills. We are addressing the crime, violence, and we are inspiring our youth, but we need our elected officials to hear us and unite in solidarity to make a greater difference. We will remember the elected officials who did not match the money or vote to what they said.
No community center, vocational school no move.
