Fell Mountain (aka Merli-Sarnoski) is a mountain bikers Heaven in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. This petition is to STOP the harvesting WHERE THERE IS SINGLETRACK. The trails were made by the Lackawanna Bike Club, who spent years making this a mountain biking destination that is now in danger. Our County Commissioners decided to do "Selective Harvesting". This was described as an area that DID NOT include our singletrack. We recently found out the area had at least tripled and NOW INCLUDED approximately 7 miles of singletrack. Several people in our community have witnessed the damage that heavy machinery does during harvesting including ruts that are waist deep, branches left behind and excessive briars growing in. This has deeply saddened the mountain bike community all around our area. Please sign this petition to save our singletrack and let our County Commissioners know how much we love our singletrack. THE CITY OF CARBONDALE AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF MAYOR JUSTIN TAYLOR IS NOT AT ALL INVOLVED WITH THIS PROJECT.

    • Please save our trails. You must realize that these trails are used for many recreational activities. I trail run and bike ride in this park and it is one of the best in Northeastern PA for all purpose outdoor activities. Please realize the damage this will do to this outstanding recreational haven.

    • Yes, I agree there is too much logging operations going on in our forests here in Pennsylvania and if it isn't stopped, what will our grandchildren use for viewing the natural resources, a concrete sidewalk?!?!?!?!
