We beleive this site (www.bonsaikitten.com)should be banned. It is dedicated to forcing week-old kittens into jars for months on end to shape them into "artistic" shapes!They encourage people to do this to their kittens to create unnaturally shaped pets that can no longer function properly, and are simply decoration. After this process the kittens can no longer move, eat or live properly, and are left defenceless and useless.
Why isnt this illegal? Its mean and unnecessary cruelty to animals. This website is dangerous, and has probably inspired inexperienced people all over the world to attempt to "shape" their cats, which, when done incorrectly can result in death of the kitten. Even when done "correctly" its a barbaric practice which puts kittens through a huge amount of pain and suffering for no reason. If these people want "clean" "easy-to-look-after" "safe" pets and a normal cat isnt good enough they should go and buy a stuffed toy instead of warping innocent animals. What would it be like being trapped in a jar for months at a time, and coming out, unable to walk, looking strange, and living simply as an object of decoration? The kittens are defenceless and action should be taken to prevent this from happening any longer. If the website stays it should at least have some sort of protection so young children cannot access it and possibly attempt this on their own pet. It is also horrible to custom make these shaped cats and sell them to people over the internet as a way of making money, and it should be stopped.
