Petition to request that Yahoo Inc reconsider their decision to charge fees for pop mail, groups, and homepages

Dear Yahoo! Management,

We, the undersigned, are signing this petition to protest the new Yahoo pricing structure in relation to several of the services most popular features such as Yahoo Groups, Yahoo Mail, and GeoCities. While we agree and understand that it is the primary goal of any company, including Yahoo, to expand their services and to make money, we feel that Yahoo is deliberately targeting users who have no choice or option in using Yahoo services. Yahoo Clubs, Yahoo Groups, Yahoo Mail, and GeoCities are all services that, once signed up for and established, are very difficult and extremely inconvenient to migrate from Yahoo to another service. We believe that Yahoo is deliberately targeting these users in total disregard to our needs and desires.

We would like to strongly encourage the management of Yahoo, Inc to reconsider their pricing structure for these services and consider continuing the current structure of Yahoo as supported primarily by advertising.

    • I agree with this petition......and think it is a crying shame that Yahoo......who has given us Yahoo egroups, etc.......to now make it so difficult for these groups to exist... you helped build friendships, computer learning and skills with these groups.......now to throw them aside. Shame on you! Do all big businesses have to be so greedy?? Why can't Yahoo be a leader instead of a follower..........Shame on You! No one wants to take money out of your pocket or deny you a profit, but you are denying us an affordable media! Shame on You!!!!!!!! I cannot afford your charges......and don't think I would pay for them if I could. Your mail service is not professional or reliable...........Shame on You!!!!!! And I do believe what goes around comes around......

    • This is total and unmitigated corporate greed... We were forced into using yahoo groups. when the majority wanted it left as clubs.. and now you want to rip into the pockets of the people who have made you as big as you are... whats next? Thre prime example is that you made the new email accounts only 4mb instead of the initial 6 at the same time that you were phasing in the groups.. knowing full well that the 'customer' would need more space than they used to... customer is obviously a dirty word where you are concerned... well shame on you yahoo inc. there are other facilities and i have a feeling that people will be heading that way... this was a bad move and an even worse public relations exercise.......

    • This is ridiculous... Everything on the web - that was at one time "FREE", now costs money, (or is in the process) and for those of us who can't afford it, it is a VERY big deal. More than likely you will lose alot of business, probably more than you would be willing to admit, and all for a very selfish reason.
