As the residents of the 13th Congressional District of Staten Island and Brooklyn well know; there has never been a more critical time in recent memory that we find ourselves in need of electing a new person to the House of Representatives. There is no doubt that this opening will weigh more on our minds and hearts than any other race.

Given the great importance of the office of U.S. Representative to this community; it is clear that there is only one man stands on our political horizon with the character, integrity, experience and drive to be our Congressman and that man is Staten Island District Attorney Dan Donovan.

Dan Donovan served the public well as a Special Narcotics Prosecutor, as Chief of Staff to former Borough President Guy Molinari and as Deputy to Borough President James Molinaro. Since he was elected as the Staten Island District Attorney, Dan Donovan has been tireless in his efforts to reform and professionalize that office; introduce a much-promised witness-protection program; and crack down on drunk drivers. Last but not least, Dan Donovan worked to take Staten Island from having the worst felony conviction rate in the state to the best in the City.

Therefore, in order to assure ourselves the best possible representation in Washington D.C., we collectively urge Dan Donovan to offer his name to the public as a candidate for Congress.
