The British band Electric Light Orchestra garnered 19 top 40 hits in the United States from 1972 until 1986.The music they performed has been an influence on artists ranging from Garth Brooks and Shania Twain to Foo Fighters,Guns and Roses,Matthew Sweet and countless others. They had a steady stream of gold and platinum albums until they disbanded in 1986.Frontman Jeff Lynne went on to work with some of the biggest names in popular music including,George Harrison,Roy Orbison,Brian Wilson,Tom Petty,Bob Dylan,Dave Edmunds,Paul McCartney,Randy Newman,Aerosmith, the Everly Brothers,Del Shannon and many others. So why, after being eligible since 1996,have ELO not been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?We think it's time.Thank You.

    • ELO was one of the most original-sounding bands of the 1970s, with an incredibly distinctive sound. Jeff Lynne wrote some of the best songs post-Sergeant Pepper, and John Lennon described ELO as "Son of Beatles". What could be a greater compliment than that?

    • Come on... Jeff Lynne is one of the best songwriters of all time. His band ELO should have been in the Hall when it opened much less now. Please don't overlook ELO and Jeff Lynne this time!

    • Jeff Lynne can no longer be ignored. Please look into all of his accomplishments, no other artist can compare to him! He has virtually changed the landscape of popular music and his influence willl be felt for generations to come! Give this true artist the recognition he so greatly desreves! Place Jeff Lynne in the Rock and Roll hall of fame where he belongs with other great musical icons.
