Peace College Safety Measures

In an effort to create a safer campus, we need the following actions to occur:

-Guests must submit Identification Cards to the attendant on lobby duty in order to obtain guest badges.

-Guest badges should be more noticeable in color (ex. red), as to aid with verification that individuals have formally signed in.

-Lobby duty** stations should be extended to all areas of entry.

-Security should have no less than four individuals staffed at all times.

-Security officers should make rounds within four divided sections of campus, as to be more accessible in case of emergency.

-Peace College should reinstate the position of Housing Director to ensure that a trained professional is accessible to supervise campus relations and emergencies.


**Lobby duty requires that an employed individual supervises guest relations

    • everyone should feel safe where they live this is our home and i think that as a first-year there are a lot of girls that are still living in hiogh school and the people you meet and that you dont know and you bring them here you are jsut harming others and you really need to think about the decisions you make before anyone else gets hurt!!

Security Officers are just like you and I, more visible cameras will only help give the scare factor to possible harmful encounters. As well help students, faculty, and staff feel safer. There are cameras on campus and students should know where they are located. I don't believe that one must present a pitch to SGA or the Student Development about more security cameras being installed... That is common sense. Cut the ridiculous activity fee and stop spending it on ludicrous amounts of "stuff" when safety should be implemented.
