This petition will be circulated to media outlets around the world.

In most media today, people who blow themselves up with the intent of murdering as many people as possible are called Suicide Bombers. This is a perversion of the the intent, the act and the tragic results. It places the emphasis on the perpetrator and not on the victims. The major intent in this act is to murder as many people as possible, suicide is merely the means. If the bomber somehow survives and is brought before a court, they will be charged with attempted murder, not attempted suicide. The term suicide bomber minimizes the tragic results for the victims and their families. If we can't properly name this vicious act, how can we expect it to be condemned worldwide? Please do your part in ensuring that we express our outrage at these acts by taking this small step to call it what it is, Homicide.

Sincerely,

    • Homicide Bomber: this accurately defines intentional homicide, suicide is merely a side effect.

    • Suicide usually refers to humans killing themselves. Implying that homicidal maniacs are humans is an insult to the human race.

    • BTW: Whatever happened to: "I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend your right to say it"? The Dutch, EU, UN, and media reaction to the movie "Fitna" is pathetic.

    • Saying homicide bomber places the deed to a lower level than what the murder was hoping for. Instead of being depicted as a martyr for his sick, blood-thirsty, cult god, he is shown as nothing but the low-life murder that he is. If using homicide bomber replaces the glory that was hoped for with the gory evil deed that was done in just one persons mind then it's a good change.

    • They don't strap bombs to themselves just to end their lives, they do it to murder others in the process.
