We speak all the time of racial equality; however this translates into a form of tolerance that allows members of historically oppressed groups to get away with things that would get a white man in trouble. As an example a black man making a racist joke is passed off as being ok, because its just his style this is not what MLK Jr wanted he wanted all humans to receive equal treatment this would mean equal punishment.
