Dear Fans

We the undersigned will not be watching Fifa's World Cup 2010 held in South Africa.

Why? In one word: NOISE!

For the countless fans who were eagerly planning on watching the 2010 World Cup and have tuned in for the first couple of matches only to find the indiscriminate and incessant noise of the hallowed vuvuzela too much to bear.

We will also be actively requesting as many people as possible not to watch World Cup 2010 nor support any initiatives promoting it.

This petition is being submitted as a form of protest to Fifa.

If you support this campaign to ban the vuvuzela on the grounds that it adds nothing to the unique atmosphere as proposed and actually takes something away from the action by suppressing the genuine excitement from the crowd, then please do not hesitate to post the link to this campaign on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank You

    • I was especially angry when they were playing those horns DURING the national anthems. If South Africa wants us to respect its heritage, the very LEAST they can do is respect our own 45 seconds of heritage. Also, is there a way, like in karaoke, to just drown THAT noise and keep the other sounds? If so, TV coverage providers should look into this. I could not hear the announcers or the songs and chants that loyal fans provide. Cant wait for 2014.

    • I was so pumped to watch SAs first game I was expecting to hear the crowds awesome chants and drums but what I and millions around the world got was an annoying buzz. I think South Africans hate their own country because when they scored the only thing they could do was disrespect the South African football team by making so much buzzing noise you couldnt hear the joy of a nation with their cheers from the stadium. Even the players celebrating didnt seem to enjoy their first goal with their dance.
