There are 4,336 names of American Heroes that will be lost once again if a memorial to U.S. soldiers and airman located in Kirkuk, Iraq, cannot be brought home.

The memorial, created in 2009 as a joint project by U.S. Army and Air Force troops stationed in Kirkuk, is painted on 22 cement barriers and spans over 280 feet. This memorial is going to be painted over as the base closes and U.S. troops pull out of Iraq.

It was requested for us to admire this work. Take in its vastness. Think about the labor of love, and honor the remembrance as each name painted on this wall. Each name represents possibly a friend of one of the artist, a son or daughter, father or mother to a family at home. One of those names may be one of our own hometown heroes. Whichever the case, with over 4,336 names posted on this memorial, they are Americas sons and daughters, they are all HEROES!

We want to do more - we want this memorial to come home. To sit on American soil, to be available to others to pay tribute to those listed on the Wall.
This memorial MUST be preserved - our Armed Forces want this home - they've asked for help and we plan to assist in any way possible.

    • It would be a disgrace not to bring it home and honor these fine young men and women who have laid their lives down in the name of freedom

    • This is more important to the troops stationed there for their fellow soldiers and airmen. Please think of them and find a way to get this home.

    • every time i hear of another soldier that has lost his or her life my heart just skips a beat and a burst of sadness come over me. my husband is a vietnam vet, he tells of horrible stories that took place on both sides, the horrible memories that all the vets have to live with is almost too much to bear, so lets all stand together in support for these courages men and women of this war and wars past!! and pray for their safe journey home, that god will give them inner peace and help them to adjust!
