Keep Golf out of the Olympics

We believe that Oympic Golf would be a third rate tournament, which is totally against the spirit of the Olympic Games.
Whilst other sportsmen/women for whom the Olympics would be the pinnacle of their careers are kept out, golfers who care litle for the Games are being let in to play in a travesty of a tournament.

    • Golf, along with football and tennis already have events that all competitors will regard as more important than a gold medal, for this reason alone, ALL should be removed from the Olympics.

    • It infuriates me that the IOC are gong so against the Olympic spirit that they are supposed to protect. The Olympics should be the pinacle of the sports that are competed. The tes should be that a competitor would prefer to win an Olympic gold rather than any other event. This test fails miserably for golf, as well as tennis and football. It is a joke that these sports are included and squash isn't. The IOC is pathetic and in serious danger of damaging its great history, tradition and following.

    • I love golf and I love the Olympics too, I just don't think they belong together. The 4 Majors will always be the pinnacle of achievement on golf - an Olympic medal will at best only ever be a nice-to-have footnote. I thought the same about tennis and time has proven me to be right about that one. Golf will be exactly the same.
