JAPAN'S claims that solid science underpins its whaling program stir reactions ranging from polite silence to dismay and undisguised ridicule from marine biologists and conservationists.



There is no need to kill the animals for scientific purposes... We know what they eat, how they migrate, breed, etc. They just want them for their dinner plates.
