Stop Milton Keynes council closing the Ice Rink AGAIN!!!

By signing this petition you will be saying you wish the local ice rink in Milton Keynes to stay open and that for the local council to close the rink would have a major effect on the community. Milton Keynes Ice rink is home to the Milton Keynes ice hockey Team The MK Kings who are a team in the British National League and have a good following ,aswell as the BNL team your have the junior teams who are just young kids trying to develope there skills and one day progress into a top flight ice hockey team like the MK Kings, also at Milton Keynes you have other ice hockey teams, speed skating, figure skating and other recreational teams and not forgetting the public that use the rink for personnel uses. To take this away again from Milton Keynes would have a major effect on the community and the developing athletes, which is home too many International stars.
We currently have many junior members of the GB ice hockey team and also have a some senior members of the GB Squad hoping to qualify for the Winter Olympics in 2006.

    • I watched my home town rink of Stevenage close a few years ago. Now the only rink near me where I can watch top quality ice hockey and continue to skate is MK. If the council close the rink not only will they be losing an excellent facility used by the people of MK but they will be taking something away from the many people that travel considerable distances to use this excellent facility.

    • To many councils have shut down rinks before and if we allowed to keep happening we will only be left with the larger arena teams, i.e superleague, which will ruin youth delvopment as they have to many imports and rarely give young british players the chance.
