To the honorable leaders of the government of the State of Mississippi:

We, the undersigned, hereby humbly petition your consideration for the following action, to wit, that the County of Rankin forthwith be re-named the County of Steve Rankin.

We ask consideration for this change to honor a beloved son of the great State of Mississippi, widely known for his encouragement of the arts and sciences in the great State of Mississippi, widely known for his encouragement of the beloved values that have made the great State of Mississippi so great, and widely known for his own practice of those beloved values.

We ask consideration for this change to honor a beloved son of the great State of Mississippi, widely known and admired for his courage and articulation and for his unstinting efforts at regaining and strengthening our American heritage of freedom, individual rights, and a free market.

Honorable leaders, we the undersigned hereby humbly offer our petition, and urge that you act with all deliberate haste in endorsing this petition, that the great County of Rankin be henceforth and forever more known as the great County of Steve Rankin.
