We the undersigned demand the immediate stop of movies, television shows, and all media that gives the impression that import and sport compact enthusiasts are criminals. The movie Fast and the Furious and its sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious has caused an explosion in police force cracking down and profiling members of our community. This is becoming an invasion of our privacy when the majority of our community are law abiding citizens and do not participate in illegal activities relating to our vehicles. These media productions give the impression that we are all thieves, gang members, drug dealers, street racers, and many other implied stereotypes. Being pulled over for no obvious reason is humiliating and demeaning and gives other motorists the impression that we are perpetuating the negative actions that they see in the media without understanding the situation. This and other actions are labelling us in a severely negative light. This must end now. Stop Profiling Sport Compact Enthusiasts.

    • Pulled over for being young, asian, & driving an import. Cop said I fit the discription of a drug dealer, but he charged me for loud music when my windows were up and all I have is factory system.

    • I was driving around a area that was known for street racing. I got pulled over and the first thing the cop asked me was where are my street racing friends and asked me to take him to them. When I said I was against street racing he called me a lier and gave me the speech about how street racing is bad and how he would catch me in the act someday and lock me up. He didnt give me a ticket but I felt I was being profiled as a criminal.

    • Was pulled over once for a vague reason. Officer questioned me several times for being in a different city than on my licence late at night (11:30pm, but I was still in the DFW metroplex). Evuantly told me he pulled me over for no front plates, and let me go.

    • I understand that these are just movies, but to deny that what are portrayed in them are the common attitude and actions of my fellow enthusiasts is just dillusional and irresponsible. As a responsible enthusiast I feel that I have no voice (to the general public). I propose that you have a disclaimer with REAL enthusiasts (not those who fit the stereotypes portrayed in the movies) allowing us a voice.
