Film's such as Warner Brother's newest release 300, have recently become the subject of debate. Such debates are irrelevant, due to the fact that most of the people who gave their signatures (including the creator of the online petition) have not seen the film yet.
The film is a product that has been created to entertain and sell merchandise. I realize this. The film's screenplay was adapted from the graphic novel written by Frank Miller. The novel is historically inaccurate in many aspects, including the depiction of Spartan warriors. It was proven that some Spartan warriors were homosexuals, while in the graphic novel and the film King Leonidas calls the Athenians "boy lovers." This misrepresentation of Spartans was not used to soil the image of ancient Greeks. Instead, this depiction was simply the creator's method for intensifying the Spartan machismo.
While some people may be angered by the depiction of Persians in the film, their arguments are futile as this FILM was not created as a historical reference, but as entertainment. Grow up and wake up to the real world. We are educated enough that if we'd like to know more about the historical accuracy of the battle of Thermopylae, we can research it rather than watch a piece of entertainment.
We petition that people who can't realize the difference between entertainment and reality should not be able to use the internet, nor write erroneous petitions to film studios.

- While true that 300 has a lot of historical inaccuracies, it was a great comic book. I look forward to seeing the film when it comes to Japan.

- I recently saw 300 and thought it was very entertaining. It in no way states that it is historically accurate or is based on actual events. This movie was based on a comic book. It is absolutely ridiculous that people are angry at the depictions of the "characters". It is a movie created simply to entertain. Stop complaining and maybe spend your time in a more productive way.

- I take a great deal of offense to your petition Mr. Hamed Vahdati Nasab. I am of GREEK descent and find your critique of the film as baseless. The Persians were not defenders of civil rights. They INVADED Greece. They did not go to Greece to "make nice." 300 is a FILM, not an historical account. Is your anger with the film, or with the fact that the Persians never were able to topple the Greeks. The pride of the Iranians should be hurt by that fact. You should take a lesson from "The Zoroastrian doctrine" and admit that your anger is the fact that Iran has been an after-thought since Alexander defeated the Persians, not with the caricature that is "300."

- It is the Muslims who have tarnished Persian culture. A place where civilization started is now where it is now being destroyed. Persians are portrayed more civilized in the movie than in real life Iran today.

- Do Hollywood junkies even deserve a response, and should we dignify them with an answer? What can we expect from those who will literally sell their wives, mothers and daughters if the price is right, and they have! Arent these people the same people who crucified Jesus Christ and turned their back on Moses for gold, lust and greed? Arent them the same people who raped, lynched and enslaved Africans, and killed tens of thousands of Native Americans? I have not paid a penny to the Hollywood junks for nearly 15 years, and will never spend one ever. Arent the same people who are raping kids in Iraq, and kills in cold blood, men, women, children and old just because? Arent these people who have committed more atrocities in their short history than others with thousands years of history? Isnt it time for all of us to feed these beggars, and let go to hell broke? I know my history, but they dont know nor have any humanity left in them.

- I say NO to Mr.Brian Gibson petition and I find the content of th letter rude. Iranian have every right to express their feelings and no one can dictate to them wether they can use the internet or no. The petition of 300, the unethical movie by Dr.Vahdati Nasab has been top three petition in 2007 and more than 50.000 has signed it so far, but I don't why it's been blocked since yesterday?!But my question is that would you still write this petition if instead of Persians, Jews were the bad guys in this movie, would you still say it is just a movie?!Of cousre not. The W.Bros would officially apologized in TV and this aopology would be the head line news of the newspapers and internet for a weak or more. But now it bothers you to see Iranian express their feeling about this movie. Western media insulted Isalm and Prophete Mohammed(PBUH), then they called it freedom of speech, they insult a nation's culture and history and later say it is just a movie!!! Why too much disrespect and hatred towards them?!

- To make a film like 300, which shows the history of a country, it is logical that producers and director visit the great Kourosh's palace, which shows the civilization and discernment of the Iranian's King. and if they don't have the facilitis to visit the palace, at least they can refer to the reliable books. Because this film is not imaginary as Harry Potter or The Lord Of the Rings. How some people can make a film and judge the value and 2500-Years civilization of another nation, when they have smaller age of advent, history and civilization?!!!!

- Serial numbers and other markings on bombs suggest that Iranians are linked to deadly explosives used by Iraqi militants, documents provide evidence of Iran's role in supplying Iraqi militants with highly sophisticated and lethal improvised explosive devices and other weaponry. Among the weapons is a roadside bomb known as an "explosively formed penetrator," which can pierce the armor of Abrams tanks with nearly molten-hot charges
