    • I was introduced to the music of Korngold by my composition tutor - Harold Truscott who frequently corresponded with EWK towards the end of his life. I bought the book as soon as it was published. Its essential that such a wonderful book be reprinted.

    • The word "definitive" should always be used sparingly, but in the case of "The Last Prodigy," it is especially apt. Brendan Carroll's thoroughly researched and thoughtfully written biography of Erich Wolfgang Korngold is required reading for anyone interested in turn-of-the-century Viennese culture, 1940s-era Hollywood, or the historiography of musical modernism. Amadeus Press needs to reprint this marvellous book, preferably in a paperback edition, and it needs to do so soon.
