We, the undersigned, urge Mr. Hank Steinbrenner, Mr. George Steinbrenner, and the New York Yankees to halt all demolition plans on the current Yankee Stadium. We also urge them to preserve said stadium, including field, scoreboard, stands, and bleachers, to the best of their ability. Many of us are your loyal fans and customers. We believe that the demolition of Yankee Stadium, where Ruth, Mantle, and Jackson once played, would be a national tragedy.

    • We never needed a new one in the first place. If you lost money for building it its your fault not ours. Just cause you screwed up in the A-Rod deal doesn't mean you should take things out on the stadium

    • You have to be kiddding!! Tear down Yankee Stadium? The franchise was built in that park...to tear it down is in essence not only starting life in a new ballpark, but an entirely new organization. If you tear down all the memories, all the great players, great games, championships, etc. you are slapping Yankee history in the face. THE REAL YANKEE STADIUM SHOULD BE DECLARED AN HISTORICAL LANDMARK, PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!! I for one will never set foot in the new park if the old one is torn down. Leave it up, conduct tours, host little league, college and speciality games in it. DO NOT TEAR IT DOWN, IT'S A PART OF NEW YORK , PART OF AMERICA. Whats next? The Empire State Building?

    • I have been a Yankee fan all my life, and I find it disgraceful that they want to throw it all away. I don't believe we even need a new stadium. It's all about the greed. They don't care about the fans anymore. If they did, they would hear us, and know that we don't want a new stadium at all. And although there's not much we can probably do about the new stadium, we can certainly ask that the old one remains. I belive it should be kept as a museum, that commemorates babe ruth, mickey mantle, joe dimaggio, and right up to the current stars of jeter, arod, joba, etc. The field can be kept to play little league games or other events.

    • This is something I don't understand. To destroy something of such value and has a rich history seems to be something only someone cynical and coldhearted would do. Think of all the memories made there, all the enjoyment it has created for all ages! People like Babe Ruth played there, and people want to demolish that simply for a new stadium!? To my understanding, it would be an emense honor to be able to stand on the field that so many great men have played. Losing this cultural icon will be a great, regretted loss, so please DO NOT Demolish Yankee Stadium.
