Proposition 215, the groundbreaking voter initiative that legalized the use of marijuana for medicinal use in California back in November, 1996.
Specifically, Proposition 215 exempted patients from arrest as long as the patient had written or oral recommendation from a physician to use marijuana for medicinal purposes.
Now if voters voted for this proposition why are patients being limited from safe access to there medication. As a patient we are requesting that Mr Cooley be removed from his position as DA as he feels that he does not have to knowledge or follow State Law.
"The vast, vast, vast majority, about 100\%, of dispensaries in Los Angeles County and the city are operating illegally, they are dealing marijuana illegally, according to our theory," Cooley said, according to The Los Angeles Times. "The time is right to deal with this problem."
Statements like this are causing fear in patients, and in return they are turning to old prohibition methods.
We as patients and people of California would like to not just ask but beg that our government stand by us and for us.

- for those in power that suppress our rights, heed warning. Relentless close-mindedness is NOT an excuse to play cowboy and choose which laws to enforce. If this continues YOU will be punished and it WILL be lawful and severe... Your public will make sure of that.

- The DA is not supposed to make or interpret law. That is the job of legislators and judges

- A DA has no right to go around the current Cabinet's stance on the issue. This man is a menace to our peaceful society and must be stopped
