Petition to Legalize Marijuana.

The legalization of marijuana in the United States of America would create a new multi-BILLION dollar industry. By taxing marijuana, the government will be generating large amounts of money thus giving the funding needed to develop more government jobs.

States plagued with unemployment could be saved by creating marijuana production factories that would create thousands of new jobs.

Increased trade with marijuana producing nations would help to stabilize their struggling third world economies. This would also help to curve illegal immigration to the states from major marijuana producing nations like Mexico by creating a new Mexican industry fresh with new jobs. Lowing incentive for illegal immigrants to cross the border in search of work.

Chains of small business selling marijuana would pop up around the country allowing the American people to live the American Dream of owning their own business. It can also save the stores going out of business due to the rise in oil prices.

Marijuana is a strong and hearty plant. It will grow in all 50 states of the U.S.A. therefor failing or weak crops would never be a problem.

Economist support the legalization of marijuana.

The legalization of marijuana will also bring in the funding needed to pay for our schools, health care for the poor, abused and neglected animals, and many other state and government programs. Marijuana can also lead to breakthroughs that will release us from our dependence on crude oil.

Marijuana, unlike its legal counterpart tobacco, has been proven on several occasions to NOT cause cancer.

Patients in the U.S.A. suffering from AIDS, cancer, chronic pain, insomnia, eating disorders, migraines, muscle pains or spasms, glaucoma, high blood pressure, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, stress, and a host of other potentially life threatening or life changing disorders will have easy access to medications they need. These patients suffer enough with their conditions and they must have the medications available for them at all times.

Marijuana will also provide patients with a safe, non-habit forming alternative to harmful prescription pills. For to long America has been given legal pills only to have their life's destroyed or even die from these substances. Lets free American from the dependence on prescription pills.

Federal legalization will also allow for the possible discovery of new aids and cures for disease by allowing medical companies the right to legally study marijuana. Huge scientific breakthroughs may come from this illegal plant.

Since marijuana could be purchased at any store, hidden contamination of the plant with LSD, PCP, cocaine, and other harmful substances could be a thing of the past, giving marijuana users safe marijuana that they "know where it came from" so to speak.

The legalization of marijuana would free up space in our already overcrowded prison system for our more dangerous and violent offenders such as murderers, rapists, and child molesters.

Legalization would free up important time in courts for more important matters than simple possession. Police would be relieved of the burden of marijuana giving them the time they desperately need to combat more serious crimes.

Drug cartels will no longer focus on marijuana and involve it with the harder substances that they kill over, reducing their profits greatly.

As you can see, legalizing marijuana has many benefits to the economy as well as health and legal issues. We can change these laws together. Stand up for your rights and fight for what you believe in. I hope you will sign this petition.

    • If we don't legalize it, people are going to continue getting shot and killed to try and get this stuff. As long as we do it in the safety of our homes, everything will be fine. And also, it isn't just for fun; it actually helps people. And not everyone can afford to go to the doctors and get a subscription.
