Stop City Park Clubhouse

The purpose of this petition is to express to the City of Langley and Langley Minor Football (LMF) that we the friends and neighbours of City Park resolve to stop plans to construct a 3 storey Clubhouse at the proposed location of the present tower. We believe that this building would create traffic congestion and parking problems that would affect the quiet enjoyment of our neighbourhood. Not only would this building negatively affect the natural beauty of City Park, but a number of trees would have to be cut down in order to build this large Clubhouse in the proposed location.

    • You are very selfish in trying to deny these children a decent clubhouse just because you don't want your view to change in front of your house. The clubhouse will not have an effect on traffic so stop trying to act like you care about others safety when you only have your only interest in mind. The clubhouse will do nothing but good for these kids and it's designed location is for their best interest Good Luck with your lame petition, I'll see you at the open house on Tuesday

    • I am the treasurer for Langley Minor Football. The new clubhouse would not increase traffic. Traffic is based on the number of amateur children that are involved in our program that we are otherwise helping keep off the streets and teaching good sportsmanship and discipline. Parking is definitely an issue on game days but that is only 10 Sundays a year. The clubhouse is to provide change rooms for the kids to get out of wet clothes before heading home. We are also adding a new concession to help in our fundraising efforts and to support our programs. While the building is "three stories" it is constructed into the bank so that from the south ( looking north ) you only see a single story plus the small announcers room above. From the north ( looking south ) there are no homes as it is the pool and music school in that direction. We do need to remove a few trees but we will be planing new trees at the direction of the parks board. Feel free to call me. 604.916.6564
