- Today, if u c most SC & ST ppl r getting profit from these reservation policies.Through such policies real poor and talented ppl not only from SC & ST candidates but also from GEN. cat. r getting affected. If u c the today scenario u will find most of the high grade post r occupied by SC & ST ppl, nd even they don't deny from facility of free scholarship nd other benefits.that's really crucial. So In my opinion those SC & ST & OBC ppl whose family annual income )a limit should not be offered these reservation facility.

- I wholeheartedly support this. The IITs are great institution not just because of the entrance exams, but also because of the fierce competetion and relentless march of meritocracy. If it were not for the people I lived with, IIT would have been just another institute with 'good' infrastructure. If this bill goes through, no longer will people compare IITs with MITs and Harvards of the world. I am all for uplifting the backward class and helping the poor. But I really don't think IITs and IIMs are the place for that. I have seen people wasting their degrees after graduating because their Score Sheets were poor. People who were not able to cope up with the pressure. Why? because they did not have what it takes to go through the grind. If government is really serious about helping the poor and uplifting the backward class, they should first start from the ground level. Create more jobs and make primary education accessible. Creating quotas in the elite schools will just not do.

- After getting into power by promising free power, water and loan waivers to farmers, the govt is ensuring their success in the next elections by playing caste politics. I thought the caste system was abolished and we are supposedly a democracy. If this comes through all we can do is to hang our heads in shame and head abroad (like the lakhs of Indian intelligentsia before us). It is sad, but I thought the government was serious about India's progress. This sets us back by 50 years. Soon the unreserved category will be the needy. I wonder if they would introduce reservations for us???? Along with the 50\% reservation, the government should also make it compulsory for all politicians, however big or small to get their work done by this reserved quota. How many politicians would get treatment or a heart surgery done by a doctor from the reserved quota? Any Answers? Mr. Singh?
