I feel the firing of Peter Tom Willis was unfair, unfounded and cowardly. Please reconsider this decision and allow him the opportunity to thrill, inform and entertain us all. PT was a great Nole on the field, in the classroom and on the radio, his firing for daring to tell the truth was a great disappointment to me.

    • This was a ridiculous (yet sadly typical) dismissal by a frequently disappointing administration. Criticism is often the first step toward correction...an idea that seems lost on our school. Anyone remember Robert Potter?

    • We need more honesty in the booth, not just another homer.

    • Florida State University, the University Administration, and particularly Bobby Bowden should be ashamed. You terminated an individual who merely stated the obvious, and voiced what all 74,000 fans in the stadium each weekend were thinking. This decision was purely a revenge move. This was payback for voicing an honest opinion, an opinion which was critical of a fathers son. The high road would have been to admit there was a problem, however, nepotism over ruled sound judgment here. PT Willis did not take a team with a longstanding tradition of excellence, and dismantle it with his comments. PT Willis did not take an offense which produced two Heisman trophy winners, and turn it into a high school (which was actually being very generous) offense. The coaching staff did that. The Offensive Coordinator did that. And the Head Coach allowed it to happen under his watch. PT merely called you on it, and you fired him for it. Shame on you Coach Bowden for being so spiteful and vindictive.

    • I have the greatest amount of respect and admiration for Coach Bowden and what he's done for our university. I was truly disappointed to hear that a man of Bowden's caliber, a man looked on as a father figure by his players and adored by fans and alumni( of which I am one) would support the removal of Peter Tom Willis.

    • PT was a great Nole and was unjustly fired. I loved hearing his "tell it like it is" commentary. He simply said what every passionate Nole fan was feeling. I will no longer listen to the radio broadcasts until he returns.

    • As a former student and fan I am glad that someone had the balls to tell it like it is in seminole nation, we don't need anymore coddling, we need to hear the truth and that's what p.t gave us. Shame on you FSU!!!

    • PT needs to be respected for taking his job seriously and doing it right, even if the truth he expresses it isn't always what we as fans want to hear. The game broadcast isn't the same without him.

    • The fans WHO ACTUALLY LISTEN TO THE GAME should be the ones to determine whether or not PT did anything wrong. Isn't getting people to listen the bottom line?"

    • PT brought a balanced and honest assessment of the team to radio. He was a great match with Gene, was exciting when the team made good plays, and voiced what all fans were thinking when we played poorly. It seems like the network shot the messenger on this one.

    • Gene is of course the "voice "of the Seminoles but I have always appreciated the honest candor of PT. He said aloud what we were all thinking.

    • I listened to the game last night (a 69--0 romp over Wester Carolina) and although William Floyd was great, I still missed Peter Tom. There is no one like him. It looks like at least some of the problems he pointed out have been fixed. Maybe he can come back if we keep on winning.
