PETITION TO SAVE
CITY OF MIRAMAR FLORIDA
FIRE RESCUE
911 COMMUNICATIONS CENTER
This petition is not intended to discredit or blame the City of Miramar, Florida. It is an effort to clearly inform the residents of Miramar about a service that will be eliminated and handed over to another agency that is not at all familiar with the Citys geography, diversity nor the needs of its residents.
The City of Miramar, Florida wants to turn over their Fire Rescue 911 emergency call center to Broward Sheriffs Office. This would mean the City of Miramar would be just one of many cities handled by dispatchers that are not familiar with our City.
As a dispatcher, and as residents of Miramar, Florida, we take our jobs very seriously to ensure the safety and security of each and every resident in need of Fire Rescue services. We are a dedicated group willing to work long hours and put our families second when emergency situations occur to ensure that the residents of Miramar are safe and well taken care of in times of crisis. By transferring this service over to Broward Sheriffs Office many residents would not receive the dedication, personalized service and loyalty that we as City of Miramar employees provide to you on a daily basis.
If you feel as strongly as I do that this would be a disservice to the citizens of Miramar, I ask if you would sign this petition so that the Mayor, City Manager and Commissioners are aware that their constituents are not in accordance with the Citys decision.
Thank you for your time.

- I am definetly opposed to handing over dispatch to Broward County. That would be a huge mistake and step backwards instead of progress for our city.

- I cannot believe that the city considers closing the 911 operations when they waste money sending glossy informational brochures city wide. Cut the useless spending, keep the 911 dispatch center!
