The United States Statutory Rape Law should be changed to "If the age difference of the two parties is greater than six years and either party is under the age of 12 and both parties consent, then if the previous requirements are not met then, the younger party or the younger parties parents may claim rape against the older party then the older party will be tried in a court of law by a jury of their peers," then it should be counted as statutory rape.

    • If you are charged with statutory rape and you marry the woman/ girl later on in life the charges should be dropped and record should be cleared

    • I Totally Agree With This. I Like A 19 Year Old and I Myself Is Only 14. We Need This law To Change But I Would Make It An 8 Year Difference Than A 6 Year Difference . I Love This Petition.

    • It's ridiculous that the law won't let a 15 and 18 year old have sex. The 15 year old should atleast have some consent--its only a 3 years age gap.

    • The law is way out of context. It needs to be changed. I feel if you are going to charge 1 you should charge both. And the girl/guys previous sexual history should be brought in.

    • I'm 17 almost 18, and I like a 15 year old girl. I would love for statutory rape laws be changed to 6 years difference. And it's technically not rape, if the minor who wants to have sexual intercourse with the other minor gives consent for them to have sexual intercourse.
